"Ohana means family, family means nobody
gets left behind"-Lelo and stich
The weather has been beautiful this week! This
week was a typical week on the mission but it was still really great as well. I
loved seeing all the fun pictures of baby Ellie and Jason and Jan and the kids!
Pictures are worth a thousand words. Everyone just seems so happy. It's amazing
how the gospel can bless people's lives.
I think that thing that has been sticking out to
me today, is just the power of one.. the ripple effect. Think of one strong
convert to the church, think of your ancestors who paved the way, think of Joseph
smith and Jesus Christ. The power of one is far greater then we can comprehend.
There are so many people that I have met her on my mission, who have touched my
life and also just to see the gospel in there lives, then sharing it with there
family is amazing.
Tuesday
We had exchanges and I went on an exchange with
SISTER HOUSER! We had so much fun. It was fun to be with her again and just get
right to work. I've learned a lot from her and I'm grateful for her friendship
on my mission. We started of our day talking to people on the streets and
getting to know others. At one point we went to go visit one of her members who
is in a nursing home. She unfortunately wasn't up for a visit so we walked past
a room and I saw this lady staring out the door just super sad. We started to
walk past but we decided to stop and talk to her. We ended up singing her a
hymn and just to see her smile was so priceless.
We ended up singing to another lady before we
left as well. She couldn't speak, we sang to her and after we were finished she
kept pointing to something in my hand. I tried to give her my hymnbook thinking
that she wanted to see it but she kept turning it away and pointing at my book
of Mormon in my hand. We gave it to her and she just stared at it, we told her
she could have it and she just held our hands in appreciation. We will probably
never know the results of what we did that day, but I know how I felt as we did
it, we were fulfilling our purpose.
Thursday
We had a lesson out in the park with a less
active member as we read in Enos with him he just started to cry and open up
about his need to change. It's so amazing how the spirit works.
Then that evening; sister Shearer and I made a
plan of salvation board game and we brought it over to a members house to have
them test it out with us. It was fun trying to work out the little kinks and
making up the rules as we went but it's so neat how perfectly divine the plan
of salvation is. Can you imagine, Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ coming up
with this plan, and just making everything perfect and working out those kinks.

eventful but it was still great! Missionary work is very fulfilling! Well sorry
