6.10.13: Crazy Week!

Oh my goodness what an incredible blessing it is to have such a great family and great new addition and Cami getting married... WHAT! crazy things are happening in the Clark household. OK little baby Henry is SO CUTE! I can't get over it. I just love him so much! I show everyone I know his little picture mom sent me. and I can't get over that Cami is engaged! it's so exciting I'm so so so excited for her! Jordan is a great guy. this week flew by. I feel like everyday we woke up, ran around like chickens with our heads cut off, running from apt to apt then the next thing I knew i was staring and the bottom of the top bunk of the bunk bed. goodness it was so busy but we saw so many miracles and so many great things are happening. get ready toms river cause the gospel of Jesus Christ is coming for you!
OK so Monday. was P-day. We went to a light house down in barnaget. we visited the sisters down there. one of which is sister waddoups my mtc companion. we took lots of pictures and just had a good day. oh something else i forgot to mention. It has been raining like crazy for the past couple of days, just rain storm after rainstorm ( a little baby just cried here in the library and I thought it was Henry hahaha, oh how are the kids adjusting to the baby??) so anyways all the streets have just been flooded and so much water. it's been awesome. I love it. raining not just rain but spiritual blessings as well. anyways we went to the lighthouse then came home and made my cupcakes so we could give to some investigators in the coming week. (they are a great tool to get into houses).
Tuesday.OK so the first thing that happened was in the morning we got a voice mail from a lady at the gym who we've been sharing scriptures with every morning and we gave her a restoration pamphlet and she left us a message saying. that she loved us and she just read the pamphlet and believes and agrees with everything in it.... ARE YOU KIDDING ME! THIS IS AWESOME! so we called her back and asked her if we could come to her house and teach her more and she was like i would love that. so were trying to set up a time to meet with her cause she works. her boyfriend is a preacher or something of the baptist church but he's a really nice. he always tells us to have a blessed day. anyways needless to say that was a great start to the day. then we went to zone meeting which was so great we learned our new monthly focus which is on using time wisely and our vision goals and plans. it's pretty cool stuff. then we went on an exchange. so sister Kimball switched with sister page. sister page is one of those people who just is so excited about the work and is just always smiling our zone has a goal of 5 baptisms for the month when they said this she was the one who was like ya we can do this. and i was feeling that way so we both got super pumped and talked about how were going to make this happen as a zone! so my goal in the morning was just to have faith, complete faith in everything and to love these people and teach them as if I was teaching meg or one of my best friends. It completely changed the way I taught in a good way. I led the lessons and just felt so confident and happy. the spirit was there and I'm getting better so that's good:) we went to sister Higgins. she was about to have her baby in 2 days and so I was just so excited cause I was thinking of Amanda and just loving all the babbyness. we taught how important her role is in the family and being a women of faith. she is amazing I'm excited for her to come back to church. I know she will:) we went to go see Wanda and talked about her patriarchal blessing and just helped explain things and taught her how to use the bible dictionary and tg it has been such an awesome tool for us missionaries so everyone use it! you can learn so much it's so great! then we went to sister garatson. she's an elderly lady (doesn't really narrow down our ward) but she is great she adopts us as her grandchildren. she made us all write down our phone numbers and home addresses so she can look us up on face book and to call us when we get home. so if you get a phone call from a sister garretson don't be surprised. she will probably call you hahah but she is so funny.
Wednesday. OK Wednesday we taught some lessons and went to go find some people but I'm running out of time so I'm just going to do the best of the best. Wednesday was our lesson with Geneva! Elder Benson and his companion found her and she's from Brazil so they asked if we would come to the lesson. we got there and sister Richardson and I weren't expecting to say anything in the lesson then she starts talking to us in English and we were just like wow... so we had a lesson with them and it was in 3 different languages. It was crazy but it was so cool. we all chipped in and we taught it at the church. as we testified about the gospel of Jesus Christ the spirit was SO STRONG and she just kept clutching her heart and telling us that she was feeling something warm and she felt peace and happiness, she thanked us for this feeling we testified of the holy ghost. she believes all this is true. she says it makes sense. she is going on vacation to Florida but were excited to teach her more. she's the elders cause she speaks Spanish but she's ours cause she's in our area.... it's confusing but ultimatly she's heavenly fathers so as long as she's taught all will be well. :) which reminds me of sad news. elder Benson is being transferred tomorrow...:( no longer my district leader. he has been so incredible and so helpful to me. he led the district with love and motivation and prayer. we are going to miss him a lot in zone 6. it's been so nice to have a little peace of brookhaven here with me. then after Geneva we went to go see Aimee. she lives out on the beach so it's always fun to see her. she has 2 daughters and she's just so funny and great. she's a recent convert and we love her. her friend was there and is moving downstairs so we talked to her and she wants to take the lessons! so were super excited to start teaching her. she's so nice. her name is Regan.
Thursday. Was our weekly planning and i got to lounge on the couch and we brought the tables over and it was fun. we then went to the cherecwiches and they got a new kitten.. and then 2 more in the week. so they are at a total of 27 animals! we love them. she's my little mission mom. always sending texts about my knee it's funny. but we want to take a picture with there family and everyone holding a different animal. we'll see if we can make it happen. we watched finding faith in Christ and they were all so touched the spirit was so strong and were so grateful for there family.

Friday...Doctor day. I finally got into the doctor. I got to call mom to get some information. I had to restrain myself from talking for to long but i wanted to just talk and see how everyone was doing. she informed me of the new arrival of Henry and i was so excited! so we went in and I got an x-ray. then had the doctor check my knee. he says the x-rays look beautiful. so that's good. as he was checking my knee (keep in mind i was in a skirt. ya not the smartest decision on my part.. how was i suppose to know! I'm a new missionary i didn't want to break any rules hahaha) but he looked at it and he thinks that I tore my meniscus. he said if so, worse case scenario we would get it scoped. a 45 min scope and I'd walk out the same day. so that was good news. but he wanted me to get an MRI so we went and talked to get it set up and there was an opening the same day! so it was a day full of doctors. haha so we went to get the MRI (I wore sweats) my first MRI. it was kinda fun. I'm super claustrophobic. but it was just for my knee so I just got to chill halfway out. thanks to my long torso. see I knew it was good for something! then I listened to prince of Egypt and just tried with all my might not to dance or move. were suppose to find out today whats going on but I'm sorry no results yet. if i get it later today I'll try to write a quick e-mail from my camera, were going to get it fixed today so get ready for picture city! but yes. thank you for all your prayers. the hard part about that was we had to cancel a lot of apts that day which was no fun. it was seriously the longest day ever! when you don't have anything missionary related appointments to do it just is so much longer.
Saturday.
I woke up and was limping around and i got out of the bathroom to find my companions made my bed. this just set the mood of the day. my companions were just doing everything for me. I was so grateful to them. I have the greatest companions and I love them so much more then I can express. Then in the same morning I got the package from mom! :) and got the pictures and letters. oh man they cheered me up so much. I didn't really need much cheering up cause I'm so ridiculously happy but it felt good to be loved:). OK and this day was just incredible we had a goal to make sure the spirit was in every lesson. so we headed to Joan's to do service. she's the non member with the cats and we go and teach her mini lessons then clean her house. and as we were trying to teach the lesson she was just so distracted and worried about her friend who just had a fire in her house and no one was going to help her clean up. and we've asked so many times if we can go help but she wont let us. so we said a prayer with her about her friend, and literally 3 minutes after she gets a call from this friend and is told that some people came to help her and were not going to charge her to take her boxes. Joan was so touched she knew the lord had heard our prayers and answered them. which conveniently our lesson was about prayer. she got the chills and her heart is being softened:) spiritual blessing number uno check. number 2 we went to go teach Shawn. we found him our 4th day here contacting. he let us in and we lost contact for a while but we got to go back and we taught about the plan of salvation and it was so great. you could see it in his eyes that he wanted this. it was a cross between he was about to cry or he was board out of his mind. I'm hoping it was the crying. but we invited him to be baptized the spirit was so strong he said he'd consider it. he said it wasn't a yes or a no. we got him to say the closing prayer and he prayed that we would continue to come back and to teach him! awesome stuff. blessing number 3 we went to visit Kevin Edna and teddy. we called before and teddy told us that Kevin was upset so we shouldn't come over. we told them we made them cupcakes, so then they let us come. (the power of the cupcakes!) so we went to teach Kevin but he was angry so we asked his wife Edna to listen. we talked to her about her life. she's going through so much. we asked her if she wanted to learn more and she said she'd let us come teach her! "but I'm not going to become Mormon" she said.. muahaha little does she know heavenly father has a different plan for her:) she'll get baptized and we just love her. so she's our new investigator! we got 2 this week! so so so blessed. on our way home we got a phone call to tell us they were opening Eilis island soon! so we got to fill out paper work so we can go by the end of July!!! so so excited!
Sunday
went to church and the chapel was full!!!! we were all smiling so big and sister Kimball was crying it was such a beautiful sight. we almost had to open the separating doors. which has been one of our goals. and one of our investigators came to church! and stayed the whole time! such an incredible Sunday. then we went to the relief society pres's house for lunch and talked with her. she's awesome these people in new jersey have been through so much!!! it's so hard to hear about but it makes me so grateful for the life I've been given and the gospel. we went on a walk with Erin our investigator (been investigating for 9 years) and she likes to go on walks. so in one visit we walked to Utah, Texas , Colorado, Michigan and somewhere else. (streets that is.) I took a picture of me at the intersection of Utah and Texas haha it was fun. I'll send tonight hopefully. on our walk we got to contact some la's which was great! then we went with sister sposato to visit people. she is incredible. everything she has she gives to others. she's a returned sister from Idaho. her parents are strong catholic and so is her family. but ya anyways we went to sing to an elderly lady and it just made her day. it was great. I'm like out of time. so I'll write more next week. I love you all so much! keep praying and reading and loving life! This gospel is true. I know it can bless your life!!!
Love sister Clark
