6.25.13: Greetings from Jersey Shore

Wow I have a short amount of time to write and so many miracles to write about. First off can I just say How amazing my family is. You all are seriously so awesome. Thank you for your letters and support and love. wow, incredible people I have in my life. So blessed. I'll be quick. I CAN'T BELIEVE MEG IS GOING TO THE MTC THIS WEEK. I have so much confidence in how amazing of a missionary she will be. so many lives in Taiwan has no idea what's coming WATCH OUT!
It is currently 98 degrees and humid. My first real hot day. But I'm inside with the ac so life is good hahah. ok
Tuesday. We had a flash flood! it was crazy! We were driving through the streets like we were driving in a river. It was so cool! I loved it. During the flash flood I went on an exchange in a Spanish area. I got a taste of Christopher's mission. It was so cool! These people are so sweet and just have such a special spirit about them. I no oblo espaniol but I could feel the spirit. I learned to say I know that Christ is my savior and that's all I could say but the spirit was still there, and we got to walk in the rain, so it was an amazing day. So during this exchange. I learned so much from this sister. I made a decision right then and there to be striving to always be thinking of my investigator, to forget myself and go to work!  Turns out President Hinckleys dad knew what he was talking about. I can testify of this power of selfless service. It changes lives. I am happier then I've ever been. My love for these people has grown so much. It's crazy how I've only been here 8 weeks and I feel like they are my home ward. Our investigator's lift my spirits or break my heart. My heart yearns for their salvation. This is serious work THIS IS SALVATION OF SOULS! no pressure... The gospel can bless lives. My testimony has grown and deepen so much In the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith, and In Jesus Christ. I've seen Lives change. It is the most rewarding incredible Experience. Everyone should serve a mission!! wow I'm just happy. I truly and getting my purpose to invite others to come unto Christ in my heart. I truly love missionary work! I love doing this. I know i have such a long way to go but I'm improving and I'm loving life. and the people. It's been awesome to see a glimpse of how missionaries can impact lives. So that was Tuesday. (so much for keeping this short)
Wednesday we were doing our thing, teaching lessons and we got a text from Kevin. We love Kevin. He was basically saying to us that he was going to jail and he wasn't going to see us again. He thanked us for our help. My heart was ripped out. So many texts transpired after that and he was in a really bad place. I just pleaded with the Lord to give us more time with him, and if he would then we would do everything we could to bring him to Christ. I had the impression to read Alma 36 with him. Then we saw him the next night. He was happy,, a total change. He informed us that he was in a dark place and he apologized for scarring us he told us he almost killed himself but then at 3 in the morning he knelt and prayed for help. The next day he got offered 2 new jobs to pay for the bills so he wouldn't have to go to jail. He thanked us sincerely for our prayers. We read Alma 36 with him. He just kept marking it and writing down passages just saying, this is exactly how I feel. It got to the forgiveness and he just wants it so bad. He felt the spirit and he was like, you guys just comb through the scriptures to find these passages for me. I was like ya we do. but we testified of the truth of the Book of Mormon.  He's going to work towards baptism. He wants it but he wants to learn more first. wow... We love Kevin so much. He always tells us he's our body guard he's this big Jersey guy so mom and dad we are protected don't worry.
Thursday we had Leadership training! we just did role plays (acted out teaching investigators, for 2 days straight) we learned so much! I'm becoming a better teacher. Missions are just great! I'm so pumped! lets go! So 2 days of role plays. The second day of leadership it was one of the sisters birthday. My companions and I and some other sisters came up with a birthday rap for her and preformed it in front of everyone. She cried she was so happy and touched. She really needed to feel like she was loved. It was a funny and neat experience. Ah I got to go cause I want to send pictures but Saturday we rode our bikes all day 30 miles, or something around there. Yes my knee is angry with me but that's OK it's worth it. Joan is going to take the lessons, and Eddy (less active) came to church on Sunday! The light is back on for him and he's working toward getting a temple recommend! I wish I could write more in detail the funny things but I guess this is just a spiritual letter. Which is just perfect! Sunday ,,, OK the broadcast. GET PUMPED! EVERY MEMBER A MISSIONARY! This is my plea for help. Find the closest missionaries and find people for them to teach. Without the members we would be nothing. You can have such a great impact on them. Small acts of service.... let us represent Jesus Christ.. all of us. I love you all so dearly I hope all is well I pray for you all often. There is no other place in the world I am suppose to be.
The church is true!
Love sister Clark!
