Wow what a crazy, busy, amazing, fast, miracle filled week! Let me start off with my experience yesterday, then I'll break it down to day by day. Yesterday was fast sunday and so we were doing our thing and I was so hungry my brain just could not work. My knee was....well mad at me or something and I was just sitting in the car to my breaking point then all the sudden out of no where it starts to just pour rain.. like the craziest rain storm I've ever seen. Like heaven just opened up and poured a big bucket out on us. I sat up and rolled down my window and just laughed and smiled as I placed my hand out the window and stuck my face as close as I could to get some drops on my face. In that moment I just knew that this was heavenly father answering your prayers for me with comfort and peace. I can not describe the joy and peace I felt as I watched the rain fall and I just knew everything was going to be ok. Literally the heavens opened and he poured down his blessings upon me. rain has always been something that I just cherish. Something about it just makes me always think that it's heavenly fathers way of letting me know he's watching over me and he cares. so when It just started pouring I was so comforted and filled with peace. My companions think i'm crazy how much I love the rain but wow what a testimony builder for me of the power of an answered prayer and Gods power. so i just wanted to say thank you for your prayers they have helped so much. i'm so greatful. I know whatever happens with my knee is the lords will and It will all be ok. :) now the song from josh groban 'remember when it rained' just has a whole knew meaning to me haha. jersey weather is crazy like utah weather one minute it can be so sunny then next it could be snowing. Ok so now i'll get to the good stuff. my week well the lords week i guess cause i'm doing the lords work.. you get what i'm saying. so so busy time just flew by so fast. we would be out and then the next thing i knew i was laying in bed again.. seriously time flies.
Sounds like all is well at home. happy late birthday wes! your awesome! I keep thinking about the advice you gave me and how much you just loved your mission it gives me much strength to know I come from a home with lots of suport and awesome people like you! so thanks!
Poor amanda! I'm praying that baby boy blue comes soon so that you can enjoy the summer! I had a dream I held him and he's really cute so get excited! In my dream he had dark curly hair and lots of it. so let me know! I have his ultra sound picture hanign up by my desk. Amanda in the words of your daughter. "a cookie will make it all better" thats what she told me when i got my wisdom teeth out and it's true.. so eat up! oh or popsicles. those are great to!
ok now i'll tell about my week. i'll do it kinda brief just know that it was awesome!
Wednesday- oh my goodness what a great day in my planner i just wrote prayers are answered! cause they are. so we met with a less active her name is krystall. she has a little 2 year old and another one on the way due this friday. she's not married but she grew up in the church but she has a desire to come back! and she's just the cutest thing we love her we taught the plan of salvation and she wants this so bad for her famliy. her boyfriend was there to they live together and you could see he wanted it to. so were going to start teaching him and maybe get them sealed next year or something! no baptism date but were optimistic he will join:) then we ate with the Lauriani's they are from brazil. and fed us brazilian food so naturaly sister kimball was so excited they talked all about where she's going. i feel for her, she just has no idea when she's going, or if she's going it's a hard place to be in. but during our dinner there little 2 year old boy just kept playing with me we wouldn't be ignored so i thought about how Christ loves little children and I thought what would he do in this situation so I played with him to try and be as christ like as i could (maybe that was an excuse to play with his avenders toys but I really did think about christ and what he would do I promise) then we went on a split and i helped a lady in the ward do some of her visiting teaching. it was fun to sit down and talk and share a message of the sacrament and just get to know them better. it was fun being the only missionary there and trying to be an example of the missionaries. then we went to kevins.. remember last week how he said he didn't need the savior. ya this next part is going to BLOW YOUR MIND! so we walk in and he's cooking and he's like sorry ladies I can't join you today but i made you some food cause I want to thank you. he's like I read romans 3 (like we told him to ) and i was wrong. I do need jesus christ so i'm sorry I was wrong and i just wanted to say thanks for bringing me to the atonement of jesus christ. I just sat there grinning from ear to ear like a goober. i couldn't speak. when he left the room for a second sister kimbal and i danced in our chairs. our PRAYERS WERE ANSWERED! super neat super cool! then we went to earins house she's an eternigator (eternal investigator) she's been investigating for 9 years. but we went and her heart is beginging to be soften and her grandma died so when we were leaving her dad came in (totaly against the church i think) and asked if he could pray with us (his mom just died) sometimes the lord has to put us through trials like that so we come to him and rely on him. because sadly for a lot of people that is the only time they will turn to him. If I was in Heavenly father's situation I would do that to! anwyays.
Thursday-(man i write long letters)
We had our interviews with president and sister jeppson. as I was walking down the hall to see president he said "Ah a fellow limper. I know those limps from anywhere" (he's an amputie) anyways I love him and sister Jeppson they are the most incredible loving powerful people on this earth. he just sincerely cares about us so much. he was so concerned for my knew and just wanted to make sure i was taken care of. so it's in the presidents hands now so i'm going to get it checked out soon. so we will finally see whats going on. I"ll keep you posted. as for now i have no idea whats going on. i'm supose to have some physical therepy but that was like 3 weeks ago that they told me that and still nothing but i've been way to busy to even think about that so it's a blessing anyways. I talked to president and i'm really doing good i'm so happy and I know i'm here for a reason. he told me that i'm becoming a missionary and it made me happy to hear he thinks so! then we went to the browns family a young family (the one of 2 in the ward) and they are so fun. the dad is a military man, grew up in hawai sister brown was a softball player. but there kids have strange names but the one i love is they have a little 2 year old girl with blue eyes gurly hair (female version of emmit) her name is Schatzi (it's german so have Jason pernounce it) but it's a german term for indeerment and I love that name. so just saying if no one takes it that is my future daughters name.
Friday-
Oh so we found a spider in our apt. sister kimball is deatlhy afraid of bugs and spiders. so we were studying and she sees it and she just points at it and starts crying and gets up on her chair. this spider is seriously no smaller then a dime. but it was pretty creepy it was hairy and had a yellow dot on the back and had a blue shinny thing on his head. needless to say we found out later it is poisionus. so we captured it. and it's still in our apt. were waiting to show it to someone but everyday sister kimbal walks by and just hits the jar and yells at it (she wants me to make sure i tell you all that she has repented and she has asked for forgiveness from the spider) so that was a funny event from our week. we met with Wayne and he commited to keep the comandments for a week. and he was touched when he talked about he knew the lord would help him. I think were getting to him. so he refered us to this lady who works at the pharmacy so we went to walgreens to go meet her. she sees us comes out and just gives us hugs. shows us pictures of her kids because her daughter has some sort of illness and needs our prayers so we took down her name and she was just like. do you have a church? oh can I come? can i bring my family? she is awesome! we were so excited like she is just ready for the gospel she wants religion and she wants a church to go to. she's turning to heavenly father for help. then we walked into kelle's house to teach her and her bom was laying open on the coach. she had been reading!!! super awesome (she's nine) but she doesn't have a baptism date anymore so sad but good at the same time. then we went out with sister Sposato. she's a single 36 year old who lives in the ward and she's a returned missionary from idaho. but her family is super strong catholic. So we ate dinner with them then we then went and sung at a nursing home. meet this man who had met with missionaries in sweeden! cool stuff. we sung to him how great tho art. he loved it. then we visited the ward members and ended up teaching 6 lessons that day! crazy! we were so tired by the end. the best was my leg didn't hold me back until we walked into the apt for the end of the day! so that was a blessing! then we were under on miles were only allowed a certain number and we thought we were over cause my kne we can't really walk anywhere but we were just fine:) miracle!
Saturday-
we served Joan (non member with cats) then we drove to a dance school.. ok get this.. they were doing a dance from the book of mormon. the play so they all got book of mormons and were all reading them. we were told about this so we stoped by that class wasn't there but the ones who were just looked at us like we were celebrities. we were just like. yes were real. were missionaries really exist. it was funny. then we went to see more people then we ate at the cherewhiches. they got a new kitten. so cute! I ddin't tell you about the daughters Morgan has autism and Taylor had some brian trama or something when she was little. so they are both sweet hearts and we love them. taylor gave us all gifts of like nail polish and tide to go pens! Mama Cherewhich told us that she had a dream that she went to dinner with Mom (yes you mom) and just was telling you that she was taking care of me.. saying yes she has a flash light,,, yes she has her knee brace.. yes she's being fed.. it was so funny to think she has dreams like that. she is such a charitable lady she's always serving others.!
then sunday-
I told you about the rain but the testimony meeting was incredible everyone was testifying how they know this church is true and testimony of christ. sister kimbal got up and knocked it out of the park with her testimony of the savior. I just sat there and thought how I want to love the savior as much as she does! I do love him a lot! but I just want to love him with everything I have. then we went to sister sturgils talent show. watching elderly dance and sing and just have a good time. it was so fun. sister sturgil sung and did so good. she was so happy we came. She aprieciated it so much! I just love her.ok well I think i've made this letter long enough but just know this week was awesome! were going to go to a light house after this and i'm excited! sorry no pictures this week I'll figure it out soon then your going to have so many picutres you wont know what to do with yourselves! haha ok well my heart goes out to you family!
