1.6.14 Burrrrrr!

Happy Birthday Jason! Hope it was wonderful.

Well despite all the dreams and concerns about me here in Paterson I'm doing good, I'm safe and warm. It has been very cold! We got 1 foot of snow in a day last week. The weather is just crazy but we are all still happy and healthy:) also thank you for the early birthday package, that family book came just in time. That was such a highlight of my week thank you so much!! I love it!

So I think I'll start of explaining the driving situation this week. So we are in Paterson. Paterson has really narrow streets with millions of cars parked on both sides of the streets always. So naturally when the snowstorm hit, no one knows what to do. We can't move our cars and clear the snow from under us so people here literally dig there cars out of the snow then place chairs or cones to mark there winter territory for the rest of the winter.

As you can imagine us missionaries move around a lot, so finding parking is compared to, going to a concert, or sporting event with absolutely no parking and throw some snow and some black ice,, and you've got Patterson.

Ha-ha you just have to laugh about it because it is hard to explain but our week hasn't been too eventful. For me it has just been a little hard. It's just one of those weeks when you just feel like everything you do is just not making a difference but I know that that is Satan trying to creep in, I have faith that we will see success and growth in our area.

So transfer texts went out this morning. Unfortunately we had earlier in the week dropped our phone in the snow, so we've had 0 communication with anyone.. Going back to the caveman days. How was missionary work ever done without a phone? I do not know. But it's been an adventure to say the least. And we might be getting another companion with us... I don't know. Stay tuned next week to see if I'm in a trio again.

Another adventure from the week has been the cold. Sister Jakins and I have just been throwing on layers and layers. We were out one day tracing and no one would talk to us, but we ran into these 2 ladies who were smoking and scored some sympathy points for being out in the cold. Ana and Lilly were really interested in learning more and we have an appointment with them next Saturday! woot!!! Sorry not to much explanation this week.

Oh Sunday! Ok so yesterday was a hard day on the mission but also a great one. One of our less active families (who we went to a Christmas lunch with) the Smiths CAME TO CHURCH!!!! It was so good to see them. I love that family so much.

Betty also got up in fast and testimony meeting and bore her testimony that was so huge! Such a huge blessing in my life. So despite challenges this week today I woke up to pouring rain. Just a little reassurance that everything will be ok.
"It's pouring in Paterson"

Despite the challenges and trials I know that it will all work out. I have faith it will. As for now, our zone is going bowling for one last time, a lot of people are leaving, it's hard we've all gotten really close but I'm excited to continue to meet new missionaries and work hard and serve the Lord. It is His work. He will provide.

Love you all so much! Happy New Year! One thing I love about new years is it is a chance to change, a fresh start. Sounds a lot like repentance. The great thing about repentance is that we don’t have to wait until January 1'st to change our lives, to come close to the savior and our heavenly father. The atonement is real, and it's there 24-7. Thank you again for all you do for me. I love you and miss you all.

Love, sister Clark
Clear eyes, full heart, can't lose.

Oh the pictures,, so one of the pictures is of my companion and I sitting outside the church waiting for a third woman. and I think I explained the rest. But Life is good. I love you all! Thank you for all the prayers and support and love.
