11.4.13 Great News

11.4.13 Weekly Letter

Dearest Family ever! how are you all. Thank you so much for  your letters! It's so great to hear your all doing so well! HAPPY BIRTHDAY BREYA!!!!! and HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE! here in Jersey we had a fun time and i'll explain that later in my letter. But this week was really good! Were working hard and we've seen miracles. and yes.. it's getting cold here. I'm sucome to finally wearing tights.. not fun but it really does keep you warm.

I mostly want my pictures to do the talking for this week. but I'll explain the spiritual sides. and the fun sides. I've made it a goal to make my companion laugh at least once a day. because laughter is the best medicine for anything and our relationship has truly grown because of it. So many things to laugh about.
ok spiritual?fun highlights of the week.

- we met serina and david! as we were walking down the street to find a less active there was a man standing listening to music so we descided to stop and talk with him. after the first couple of words serina busts out the door and starts talking to us. she's a young woman with a 2 year old son. (which reminds me i'm very excited about breya's primary program! we had one last week and it was so incredible. changed my life!) But we started to talk to serina and to get to know her and We found out her brother passed away recently and I had the wonderful experience of being able to testify full heartedly that She will be able to see her brother again. I told them about grandpa and it really touched there hearts. So another way grandpa has touched lives. We will be seeing her again this week and hopfully start teaching her more.

-Hernandez family!!! ok buckel up. So the hernandezed are a less active family. But were so happy to have us over. we taught about the book of mormon and they agreed to start reading it again and coming to church! Sister Hernandez just talked and talked (like all good jersey people) and she was so excited to come back and to start sharing the gospel with those around her. she told us that her and her husband want to be sealed. the hard part is that She is very sick, not really sure with what but it confines her inside her house all day everyday. They sadly couldn't come to church because she was so sick but were so excited to work with them.

-Laura. Another less active member who I forced friendshiped:) always fun. But she fed us this week. it was so delicous. She really has a strong testimony of the gospel and she has been coming back to church it's been so great. there are some things we need to work on but she'll get there. I know she will. on our way out the door I almost hit her in the head with my scripture case (yes i'm that tall) and she said "now that's scripture power" haha it was funny.. maybe you had to be there but it was great.

-wednesday night. we carved pumpkins. it was really fun. it made me miss krystal and eric but it's ok... oh btw. THEY ARE GOING TO THE TEMPLE THIS WEDNESDAY!!! to do baptisms for the dead! i'm so so excited for them. and Eric recieved the priestood this sunday! so so neat. all my recent converts down in toms river now have temple recomends thanks to the hard work of sister Morrison! i'm so so so greatful for that. I thought of Breya on her birthday and sung to myself happy birthday for her:)
-Thursday Halloween Forced companionship fun. My companion doesn't like to dress up so, of course like the mission mom I am. I made her a fox costume. and I made myself a wolf costume. after we got inside for the night we dressed up and made mummy dogs. not as good as pizza rolls but still pretty good. we had a good time.
-I went on and exchange with SISTER RICHARDSON (my trainner) we had so much fun! I went to Caldwell and left sister Reed here Leading the area. It was hard to leave her but I knew she would be ok. Sister Richardson just bonded as usual. it's so neat were in the same zone! I love it a lot.

-Sunday was so awesome. We had a goal of finding 2 new investigators but we only found 1,, but not from lack of effort. we talked to everyone. even a man sitting in his car. we walked up to him and made him roll down his window and talk to us. not really potential but hey. we planted a seed. the best part of sunday. we went to go teach laura a lesson and after she invited herself to come out with us for the rest of the night. we went to go see cory and emily. emily wasn't home but Cory was and we came in and read 2 nephi 31 with him. about the doctrine of Christ and as we read. he was very into it. finally we asked him what he understood from the verses we had read he said and i quote "i need to be baptized" so I testified then sister Reed went in for the kill (invite like a chammpion) he acepted!!!! December 1st! He's one of those people when I met the first time I felt like I knew him before. I think I was sent here for sister Reed and also for Cory and Emily. It was so neat to see. the spirit was so strong. were excited for him.

Ok well that was basically my week. Full of so many blessings. I just want to testify of the power of prayer. The power and comfort that comes from being willing to act and do everything on your part to do what the lord would have you do. He truly does love us. he loves these people. What a blessing it is to serve him everyday. I'm learning that more and more. I see more of my imperfections everyday but It makes me more greatful for the atonement in my life. I know Christ lives! I  know he is our brother. I know we will see him again. The gospel is true! I love you all so much! thanks for your love and your prayers. they are felt!

Love,
Sister clark
