What a wonderful Christmas season! It was so
incredible to be able to Skype with everyone and to see your faces.. so weird
but so awesome! Oh man I loved every minute of it!
On Tuesday Christmas eve. So our day started off
with going to a less active members house. Her name is Jessie and she's so
cool. She's 25 and has a strong testimony it's just hard for her to put in into
action. So we went on Christmas eve and met with her early in the morning we
shared a message with her about the holy ghost and she started to cry and talk
about how we as missionaries don't understand the impact we have on people and
how much the missionaries have touched her life.
It was such a sweet testimony builder for me to see
we truly are making a difference, sometimes it seems like we are not but we
are. It was a great way to start of the Christmas season.
Then after we scurried on over to district meeting.
I was asked to give training on Fear not and look to the savior for help. I got
to share one of my favorite scriptures in doctrine and covenants. "Look
unto me in every thought doubt not, fear not" 6: 36. I realized and got to
reflect on how much the Savior has helped me in the work and given me the
strength and courage to keep moving forward.
Patterson 2nd Branch missionaries |
I honestly don't know how I survived the first 2
weeks here in Paterson, the only explanation is that he took control and he
guided us. I spent most of the time letting the district reflect on how the
Savior and his perfect love cast out all fear. It was great.
Next we went a caroling, as we were caroling to the
branch members we randomly decided to knock on this door and carol. We started
singing silent night and this Ukrainian lady sat and listened with so much joy.
She gave us some sort of biscuits and then sent us on our way. As we walked
outside it started to snow. IT'S A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE!
Christmas
morning I woke up at 6:30 did a little dance around my companion and then we
ran down the stairs in our p.j's and opened gifts. Thank you all for the great
presents it was a lot of fun to open. Then we headed to a zone activity where
we got to wear our Christmas p.j's and have a white elephant exchange.
We ate breakfast sang songs, and then practiced our
Roping skills (our zone leader is from Roosevelt Utah) then sister Jakins and I
dropped of some Christmas gifts to some of our favorite people here in
Paterson. It made me appreciate so much the blessings I have in my life,
especially the blessing of the savior.
Roping like a champion! |
District Christmas |
Next we went to the Smith’s home and shared a
little Christmas fun with them. And then to the Johnsons to Skype ya'll. You
all look so great and happy! Shout out to Jason and Brain and Emily and whoever
else helped with the Google chat.
We had a huge thanksgiving dinner (yes on
Christmas) and then headed home
Friday was back to work as usual, We got to have
betty come out with us and we eventually ended up going to get some Chinese
food, and eating it at the chapel then Betty gave us some African Back massages
:)
Saturday
Biggest Miracle! We met with a man named Eric, we
taught him the restoration and the spirit was so strong, he was just soaking it
all in and was agreeing with everything. When we invited him to be baptized he
said he'd think about it.
Then he left
the church as we were mini celebrating a great lesson he came back in the
church knocked on the door scared us to death then said. "I want to be
baptized!" super cool! Anyways that was basically our week.
I have to
get going soon my companion is not feeling well so we must go let her rest. But
I love you all thank you so much for your love and prayers and letters. They
are like gold out here! My New Year resolution for this year, is rededicating
myself to the work. Refocusing and growing more knowledge, and love for the
savior.
Rose for my mission so far. Seeing Eric and Krystal
grow and progress. And Eric getting baptized, or seeing Reagans face as she did
baptisms for her mom in the temple. Thorn, Losing sister Reed to the Spanish
program,, or my knee.. But I'm looking forward to continue finding people to
share the gospel with and new memories and working hard:) love you all HAPPY
NEW YEAR!
Love,
Sister Clark
