11.25.13 Jumping for Joy

There is no faith in the comfort zone, and no comfort in the faith zone....

What an incredible week. A change is coming!!! so as you may or may not have noticed I have now been in Paterson for 6 weeks with sister Reed. Well, last night we got a call from president Jeppson it was for sister Reed. She is being switched to the Spanish Program. My heart just sunk. She will be leaving Tomorrow and I will be recieving a new companion. I am losing my 'daughter' and it hurts.I know that it is the Lords will but I'm going to miss her so much! She will be an awesome Spanish missionary. It was very unexpected that's for sure. So I don't have to much time to write today because we need to get her stuff all packed up.

But if anything happy from this I get to go see sister Morrison and Sister Santos before they head home. CRAZINESS! the mission is pure craziness but I love every minute.

We've had such an fantastic week! full of the spirit and 7 new investigators! we have been so blessed. This week I've really been working on being happy about the work. I've found myself trying to be a robot missionary.. it doesn't work. I am human and make so many mistakes but I'm trying my best and I know the Lord knows that!

Things I learned and noticed this week. Something that I forgot is how wonderful and how much Joy it brings to see someone who is truly reading the Book of Mormon and it literally changes them. We met with our investigator Sinthia and her son Jose this week. Sinthia has been living the word of wisdom! and she loves having the missionaries come and teach her. She has been really stressed lately, and having a hard time with deciding to be baptized.  And as I was praying for her this week, seeking council from Heavenly Father how to help her. My answer was that the Book of Mormon is the best medicine. And it is.

When we went to our next appointment with them see was so giddy and happy. She just kept saying "You're going to be so proud of me." and she flips open her Book of Mormon app and shows us that she is in 1 Nephi 3. Just beaming, with the light of Christ. We asked her how she liked it. She Just told us that it makes her so happy. Whenever someone stresses her out at work. she goes and reads or listens to a couple of verses. She said "It works!". It reminded me of Eric back in Toms River. How his conversion and change happened when reading the Book of Mormon.

We also had an unexpected experience to teach a man about the Book of Mormon. After we shared the message of the restoration with him and his friend. They asked US for a copy. Later in this appointment This man looked at us with all the sincerity in his heart and asked. "is it ever to late to believe in God?". This statement touched my heart to the very core. I could feel Heavenly Fathers Love for him. It was so amazing. I'll keep you updated on his progress but wow, what a blessing. The spirit was there in both of these lessons and that's truly what makes the difference.

Fun experiences.. oh man where do I begin. We had a moment in our missionary meeting when we all broke out into the prophets song and our recent convert said "I feel like I just entered into a Mormon High school musical moment".
My district

Or another great highlight was last night. We hat African food with Betty in our car. She had put some African peppers in there and it was SO HOT! I can not handle spicy food. so I tried my best to eat it but my companion and Betty just laughed at me for like 30 minutes. I had to put my head out the window in the freezing cold to get relief.. my lips are still burning but it's OK. Betty's favorite phrase is "Wither you like it or yes". Agency doesn't exist with my dear friend Betty haha so she is forcing me to eat the rest of the food later.

"Spicy food is not for me!"

All in all a great week. I'm going to miss Sister Reed so much. She has been exactly what I needed! I don't know what I"m going to do without her but I'm excited for a new adventure here in Paterson!
Sometimes I work my companion too hard!

I love you all so much! thank you for your prayers. they have been felt. The Gospel is true!
this week for thanks giving we have 3 dinners planned.. (reminds me of Gilmore Girls) and also a turkey bowl for the mission. It will be fun.

I'm very excited. being out on the mission helps you see so many things to be grateful for. I'm so grateful for my Savior and his love. I'm grateful for my Heavenly Father who hears and answers my prayers. I'm so grateful for my family. Ya'll mean the world to me. I'm so grateful for the gospel and the plan heavenly father has for us. He truly does love us. I love you all. sorry this letter is short! more to come next week!
Love,
Sister Clark
clear eyes full heart can't lose!
I am going to miss Sister Reed
