First
off thank you all for your wonderful fun e-mails this week. Everyone seems so
happy:) I love hearing from you all and seeing your pictures. Shot out to Em
and Brian for there birthdays! Happy birthday! I hope it was wonderful and you
enjoyed every minute of it. I love you both so much.
Ok so this week was great. I went on 2 exchanges both of which I
left my area so I haven't been in Caldwell too much but I was in NEW YORK!
Super cool. About 20 minutes away from Manhattan.. There is actually a part of
New York in our mission and so I was on exchange there and it was really
fun.
Mostly this week we have been working on Contacting people,
talking to everyone we see. I love contacting! It gives me so much confidence
as a missionary and helps me feel like I'm fulfilling my missionary purpose as
I invite all whom I see. I've loved all the things I've learned this week and
the ways I've grown, so much prayers and just seeing how much I've changed
since last April.
Something really cool that happened was on one of my exchanges I
met one of Megan (smith) Lutz's (my cousin) college roommates who lives out
here. She actually feed us a meal it was so neat to have a connection to
home:).
Baptism High
Not to much news in terms of missionary work. Still just coming
off the high of the baptism last week. But I've thought of an interesting
thought of phases of being a missionary.
Missions are so much like the story the wizard of Oz; at different
points in my mission I've become different characters. Sometimes I have been
Dorothy; homesick as a dog, sometimes I'm the Tin man who doesn't fully have my
purpose in my heart. Sometimes I'm the scarecrow and feel like I've lost my
brains (mostly in the state I've been in lately ha-ha). Or sometimes I'm the
cowardly lion trying to find courage to open my mouth and share the gospel.
Each of us out here can be different characters. But we all work
together as a team, which makes us stronger. We follow the Yellow brick road.
Or the gospel of Jesus Christ, searching for the 'Great Wizard'. Wanting
nothing more then to find Joy and overcome our shortcomings as we follow the
trail we forget ourselves and remember our purpose. (Disclaimer, I don't think
I've ever actually seen the entire wizard of Oz, due to nightmares but I think
I got the gist of the characters down).
Anyways this week was good, I'm sorry I don't have any incredible
stories this week, however I will say that I know the power of the Priesthood
is real. I am so grateful for it and the chance I have to be surrounded by
worthy men who honor that priesthood. I am so ever grateful for prayer and the
atonement of Jesus Christ. I have been so blessed and I love every moment of my
mission, even the hard ones:) e-mail time is being cut short but I love you
all! Thank you for your love and prayers. I pray for you always:) have another
amazing week!
Love,
Sister Clark
