1.27.14 Back to the Days of Christopher Robin and Pooh

"Promise me you'll never forget you are Braver then you seem, smarter then you think, and stronger then you feel"- Christopher Robin (don't know if that's the right wording)

This is a quote I read this week and it just has stuck with me. Reminded me to bring it back to the basics, keep it simple. Become as a little child. Anyways how was everyone's week? Sounds like lots of fun with Jan's baby shower and all the fun festivities. My week was good, a little more challenging but still fun.

So to answer questions. Yes I am staying warm. The blizzard was.. Snowy but it wasn't too bad. We actually were walking in it all day trying to find people to teach. Demonstrates that nothing can stop the Lords work from moving forward!

Another snowstorm

So on Tuesday Like I mentioned we were out and about. We were banned from our cars so we walked around Paterson, talking to everyone the Lord placed in our path. We made it fun and the Lord kept us warm.

Wednesday we had district meeting and after we had a mini transfer conference, where our zone leaders gave us all new companions for a day and a half. So I left my area and went with Sister Page!

A sister who came into the mission the same time I did. We had so much fun talking with one another and just understanding how we were both feeling. We made peanut butter and applesauce crepes... sounds weird but it was pretty good.

Long story....
Friday we taught our people, it was good day for lessons, the spirit was there. Then we went and taught Kevin, a recent convert who was baptized 3 weeks before I came into Paterson then he became our recent convert. He is probably one of the best friends I've made here out on my mission. We talked about enduring to the end, he told us that he might be moving from New Jersey soon, which makes me super sad but If it's the Lords will then it will be worth it.

Saturday
Was a day full of teaching, we also had a chili cook off! Yes just like in Brookhaven. It was really delicious and lots of fun. They also had music playing so members could dance and just have a good time. So all the missionaries gathered in a corner sat at a table and resisted our desires to dance. We would all bob our heads together it was fun. Also miracle of the night. We were about to head home but decided to go visit a less active member. As we went to his house, he let us in and fed us Mexican hot chocolate (which is amazing) and bagels to dip in hot chocolate. He is an amazing person. It was hard to see that things of the past are stopping him from coming to church but he still has a solid testimony of the gospel. We look forward to meeting him more.
Senior couple

Yesterday was good, we taught Young woman’s. I love teaching that age. I just feel such a special connection with them. We talked about the Godhead and had them practice teaching it to others.

Sorry this letter is not that fun. It's just been a typical week, but the good news.. We’re going bowling. The better news.. I'm going to beat some elders at bowling... not that I’m competitive or anything.... ok well I love you all. The gospel is true! Keep up those prayers and the hard work. You are all wonderful! Love you all!
Love, sister Clark
