Hoydee!!!.. how dee? I don't know how to spell it
nonetheless hello! Oh man this week has been so amazing! I will admit last week
was hard, but I know that you have to experience those low of lows so you can
feel and enjoy the highs:) If everyone kept every commitment, and came to
church every week we wouldn't truly understand the importance of helping them
come and learn why it is important. Opposition, Heavenly Father must have had a
plan for this or something...hmm. :D sorry I'm a little loopy from the week but
it was a good week.
Yes this coming week will be my last week in the
teens... So strange. I've gotten some great advice from Emily how to be a
little rebellious teenage for a little longer. As for the questions on what my
plans are for my birthday. I have a missionary meeting during the nighttime and
a dinner with a recent convert planned. I'm not sure exactly what I'll do for
the rest of the day but we'll make it fun. A couple new investigators would be
a great birthday present. I'm excited, holidays are the best!
Here in Paterson we got down to 10 degrees this
week with humidity, and wind,, and snow. But the Lord kept us warm and luckily
most people let us in to share with them. Most of the greatest blessings and
people we've worked with here in Paterson have been a result of enduring the
cold and talking to people. I'll explain more in my e-mail.
Ok so last week stories I'll start with Monday
So last Monday I was a little frazzled, the
transfer text went out and said that I was training.. But our phone wasn't
working and that's usually how you know if you’re training. So I was very
confused. The Lord was testing my trust in Him.
On Monday we also went bowling as a zone for the
last time as zone 3. We had the most incredible zone! Work was getting done and
we all were supper close. So it just seems right to end it off with some
classic bowling.
Tuesday,
We were told to go to transfer conference, so we
went. We went to get our new phone and also to find out that we were getting a
new companion!!!!!!! From the temple square mission!!!!!!! Her name is Sister
Snow she is from Texas and Utah.. But right now here family is in Texas. She is
so awesome. she's been out on her mission for 6 months now, (same as sister
Jakins). So basically I'm somewhat training her how to do missionary work what
they call 'out bound'. It is an adjustment for her but she's doing so well.
She’s very funny; it's great to be in a trio again! Oh how I have missed the
trio's.

This week I've been compared to a chicken running
around with my head cut off many times. Sometimes I forget to feed 'Rajah'
(from Aladdin) Rajah is the name for our hungry bellies when they 'roar' at us.
Ha-ha but we've been working really hard this week and I feel like sister Snow
is still in a little culture shock (from temple square to Paterson... ya
actually I’m sure she's in culture shock)
At transfer conference it got so cold that most of
the missionaries cars wouldn't start. It was so cold but we all survived:)
Wednesday I gave training in Zone meeting. It was
the first training I've given in zone meeting but I guess it went well. I
shared about Repentance and it was such a perfect thing for me to study and
share. I love the concept of Repentance; it's a happy thing. The opportunity we
have to change our lives and become better. It has been a great monthly focus
for me so far.
Ok 2 people I want to talk about this week that we
are working with
1. Ana, oh my goodness she is incredible. Sister
Jakins and I met her out in the freezing cold and she invited us in. she told
us that her daughters keep asking her questions about God. We taught her whole
family the restoration. One of her kids got sick as we talked about Joseph Smith (grrr Satan) but we plan to go back and share more. She just loved the
message and was so grateful we took time to talk with her. She is an incredible
mother and just wonderful person.
2. We taught our dear friend sue this week. One of
my all time favorite people out here in Paterson (she calls us her snow
bunnies) but we taught her the restoration and she cried as we taught it.
She felt the spirit and just said how much it made sense and how she felt God's
love, so neat! She said she will be baptized but she wants to learn more before
we set her with a date:)
3. Ok one more. Eric, he is a man we also found
outside in the blizzard. We’ve been teaching him for a while and the other
night we shared with him about the gospel. His parents invited us to their
house and fed us dinner. Turns out Eric have been just changing his life around
and came from a very different direction and how we found him just at the right
time right when he needed it. He is such an inspiration and so cool! Yes count
them that's 2 Eric’s I was sent to New Jersey for :) ha-ha
So update about the Paterson second Branch we now
have 11 missionaries serving in our little branch. This Sunday we all sang this
is the Christ and the spirit was so strong. Also this Sunday we had 6 of our
fewer actives attend church. And one of our favorite less active families the
smiths Jaden (8 year old son) was baptized this Sunday:) what a great week! I
can't wait for this week. Continued hard work and bringing souls to Christ. I
love the gospel I love my mission! I'm out of time but thank you all for your
prayers they really help me so much!
Love,
Sister Clark
